The wait for the 7th annual Welcome to Rockville lineup is over, as the festival has released one of its best in recent memory.
This years headlining acts include: Soundgarden and A Perfect Circle on Saturday April 29th with Def Leppard and The Offspring finishing things off Sunday April 30th.
2017’s event sees bands from all over the genre converging for what looks to be one of the festivals loudest weekends in the events history: Mastodon, Chevelle, Seether, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, Pierce The Veil, Coheed and Cambria, Alter Bridge, The Pretty Reckless, Amon Amarth, Eagles of Death Metal, Highly Suspect, Dillinger Escape Plan, In Flames, Gojira, In This Moment, Motionless In White, All That Remains, Nothing More, Rival Sons, Beartooth, Every Time I Die, Attila, Starset, Dinosaur Pile-Up, I Prevail, Kyng, Crobot, Volumes, Sylar, Fire From the Gods, As Lions, Badflower, Goodbye June, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Cover Your Tracks, The Charm The Fury, and more to be announced.
The festival last year saw the return of rock legends Disturbed as they played the festival for the first time since taking a five year hiatus shattering attendance records as more than 50,000 rockers piled into Metropolitan Park in downtown Jacksonville as fans also saw hometown native Shinedown returned home to play for the first time since 2012.
Since it’s founding in 2011, Welcome to Rockville has grown from a one day event into one of the nations hottest festivals in what is known as the World’s Loudest Month. The month of May features a string of festivals that begin in Florida and conclude in Columbus, Ohio for the United States largest rock and roll festival, Rock on the Range.
This year will also see the return of Chevelle and Alter Bridge who have not played the event since 2014.
“Without a doubt we can’t wait to throw down with our rock and metal fans at Welcome To Rockville fest,” Chevelle front man Pete Loeffler said in the events press release. “Ever since the beginning for us, we’ve seen how absolutely amazing and rabid you guys can get in Florida! You keep us on our toes; hell yes, we’ll see you there!”
“We’re stoked to be kicking off the World’s Loudest Month at Rockville with Alter Bridge. It’s gonna be epic so don’t miss it!” Alter Bridge front man Myles Kennedy said in the events press release.
