It is very sad that the Comptons are caught up in a web that was largely created by crooked adoption agencies. With the Hague Convention implementation, there is a better checks and balances in place to guard against in country bidding for healthy infant referrals. Adoption Agencies work for their paying contractual client not the child and many countries that are poor were subject to accepting these bribes. Whenever you see a small country like Ethiopia or Kazakhstan suppling the USA with over 2,000 children / mostly babies…there are usually baby mills in the country. Babies that are produced just for adoption, not bonafide abandoned babies. Today the special needs children are now the hot commodity in international adoption marketing. As of June 30,2010 Kazakhstan is no longer accepting dossiers for adoption of their children.
American adoptions have increased, this tightening up of International adoptions has resulted in American kids now having a chance at a home and loving family.

So glad someone was brave enough to be honest about adoption and international adoption. I was adopted and have concidered adoption over the years. If you take away the fantasy and face the reality and still opt to adopt-you are some brave parents to go through with it. There are some psycological issues that just come with adopted kids. period. Fortunately, for your adopted children you are aware through personal experience and are commited parents. They couldn't be luckier. Congraduations.
