It may lure you toward the scent of a variety of natural recipes and organic dishes. You will find yourself at the Organic Delight Picnic.

Director Melissa Stuart has been involved with the Gala Menéndez for the past two years.
She’s been volunteering since 2008 and just became director about three months ago. The annual Gala Menéndez will take place on Saturday, Feb. 27, celebrating the 491st birthday of Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, founder of St. Augustine.

With her line now being sold across the country, a new showroom opening in Maine and her joining the social networking craze, this is the year, her mom, Guyanna Erklens, said. “Cassandra is gonna blow up.”

VoiceMale, a nine-person all-male a capella group from Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass., performed in downtown St. Augustine last week on its yearly spring tour.
VoiceMale tour manager and member Aiden Horowitz said the group was touring Florida for a week, singing in cities such as Miami, Jupiter, and here in St. Augustine.

Andrew Young is no stranger to St. Augustine’s racial tensions.
The former UN ambassador and mayor of Atlanta came to St. Augustine last week to speak to Flagler College about the city’s role in the civil rights struggles of the 1960s and to present his documentary, Crossing St. Augustine, to Flagler and the St. Augustine community in Flagler’s auditorium. The film contains interviews with numerous locals who participated in the city’s civil rights movement and talks about Young’s visit to St. Augustine in June 1964.
