I saw this one and the original, and being a child of the 70s, I think a lot of younger audiences think it makes them seem sophisticated if they can call something a classic.  Just because something is old doesn&#039;t make it a classic, kiddo.

The original was so rough around the edges at times it was beyond pathetic, sure it was Craven&#039;s first feature film - but, come on the whole duck scene, the THEME music &quot;Sadie and . . .&quot; for the badguys?  

It was raw, I will give you that, but I felt the re-make was just as raw.  Being a parent helps you appreciate this one a lot more than the original, those parents were retarded at best.  When Mari is being treated by her father, a surgeon, and he is telling her it will be ok etc. you really feel that scene.  Compare that to the original.  The acting was MUCH better and the casting obviously was more believable, still the original Sadie was by far the better of the two.
